Heading back..

What I saw and experienced on the way back from Lubbock, Texas:

The view for about 2-3 hours straight

The restaurant we ate at.. it was like an old diner.

Yessir.

..the bathroom stalls were super short..

haha didn't stop my mom from havin fun, that's for sure.

We stopped at a gas station in Clovis, NM and they were selling pens. Well, one pen that is. It was originally $0.99, yet it was marked down to $0.59 when I was there. It was super tempting, but I didn't buy it.

Beautiful view along the way..

Lubbock Turkey Trott

So my aunt Kim, cousin Tara, my grandpa and myself went to the Turkey Trott this morning. My cousin ran the 7 mile race while the rest of us walked the 2 mile. haha well good news, I came in 273rd place! haha (out of 278 people). woo whoo. =)

a pond in the park we were walking through

we finished in 35 minutes and 48 seconds
we might have finished a little earlier if my grandfather didn't have to stop and use the bathroom, read the sign that gave a brief description on the founding of the park, and go to the car to get the camera. haha love him.

Everything's bigger in Texas... or so they say.

Texas is a great place to be for the holidays! They have awesome gas station food (although they have slightly inappropriate names..) and on the ride up all I saw was well, nothing. When we got into the smaller towns there were tons of old, rustic buildings that I would have liked to probe.. haha. I dig old buildings... so much history..

an occasional power line and a few old trucks were the highlight of the trip

..scenic route..

So, I didn't take a picture of this burger because of it's slightly inappropriate name... well, kinda. haha I saw this burger next to the others and realized that it didn't really live up to it's name. It isn't as big as it says it is. Shame shame.

Luli's animals...

tend to like me.. or just my body. They feel as if my body is a resting place. I was just sitting there, watching TV, when Sephora, the dog, just comes up and sits on my lap. Now, after trying to get her off 3, 4 times, I just gave up and let her chill there. No harm done. Now when Honey, the cat, sees that my lap space is taken, she comes over and decides to sit on my shoulder. That's cool, I guess. I'm just glad they didn't "mark their territory."

The Coronado Mall...

Scares me oh so much, yet the food and frozen yogurt is amazing. They also have cute dogs and cats, and perfume in a can!

This little guy broke my heart. He looked like he was gonna puke up a fur ball. Poor thing...

Ok, so this is by far the cutest cat I've see in a while. Her name is Almond Joy, and it looks like she's thinking "if I can't see them, they can't see me."

Perfume... in a can...

Flying Star

I'm currently upset with the Flying Star. First of all, they over charged us for our food, then gave sick attitude when we didn't have enough to pay $5 over what we should have paid, and then got upset because we didn't have 2 cents to pay the $26.02 tab. Psh. Whatever. Yet that didn't stop Santi and I from enjoying ourselves. You'll never take us down, Flying Star. Never.

so... I pretty much couldn't use the chopsticks that were provided because I don't obtain the skills needed. You can see "American" written all over my for head. ha ha.

Chez Nous (chey-new)

On Thursday my mom and I went to Chez Nous, the restaurant at my school, and had an awesome turkey dinner. We're starting the season off right!

Delish. Turkey with an apple wood something gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans with roasted/candied walnuts, and cranberry goodness.

woo whoo. It's a good day when you get checked out of Spanish class to eat some awesome food.

Awesome pumpkin pie with streusel on top.

Odd start time.

So, I was flipping through the channels the other night and I came across that show with Paris Hilton. Now, it wasn't the urge of knowing who her new best friend may be that made me stop. It was the start time of the show that was posted on the guide. Quite odd to me, and interesting.

If the show had started at 9:00, instead of 9:01, what would have happened? Would the earth be thrown off it's axis? Would gravity cease to exist? ..we'll never know..

Church+Badminton+Fall= Awesome Fun

So as Dc, Mariah, and I were waiting to go to The Wake concert thingy on Sunday, we hung out at church and entertained each other with an intense game of badminton and the leaves on the ground. Take a gander at the joy:

Our hardcore opponents serving it up.

Dc... hitting the birdy like it's nobody's business.

..or so I thought.. haha she missed.

Where the birdy ended up most of the time..
the bushes

Woo whoo!
Dc... and a couple of leaves...

Oodles of joy. Mariah and the fun of leaves.
=)

Well... this is a little late.. but hey

So on Thursday November 6th, Dc and I got to hang at the Flying Star. It was rather enjoyable...

self explanatory

This sweet clock in front of the Flying Star

When hot tea and ice tea unite.

Mmm... Buddha bowl.

Dc and her awesome looking pasta dish.

Dulce de Leche cheesecake... delish.

Dc and her pie... I forgot what it was called..

Slight problem

Ok. So I just finished reading the blogs of some cool people in like 5 minutes. I figured I'd check out others. So I noticed that every time I click the "see next blog" button at the top of the page, I always get redirected to a blog in another language. I'm not sure why, or how it happens, but it does. I know that English isn't the only spoken/written language in the world but goodness! Every time! Anyone else experiencing this?

Fall Festival '08

So I went to the Fall Festival yesterday with Santi, Luli, Mariah, my momma, and my niece Marissa. It was quite interesting. Santi and I walked around for about an hour or two until Luli and Mariah got there. We got some Cici's pizza and cotton candy... yum.
My niece decided to be a butterfly, yet she wouldn't keep her wings on... so she was more like a caterpillar...
She wouldn't go on any or the rides or play any of the games... such a damper. =)
Yet she is not like any other 6 yr old kid I know... she won't eat PB&Js... she won't play games at carnivals... she consumes more food in one sitting than I can in a day... She won't watch cartoons!! ...garsh. It's just not normal...
haha anywho... Here are some pictures of our super fun night:
